Brandy Guthery discovered dancing at age nine and started choreographing soon after. She moved to Portland at age fourteen to dance with the School of Oregon Ballet. Performing with The Portland Opera, A-WOL Dance Collective, Polaris Dance Theatre, OBT and NW Academy of Dance, movement is no stranger to her. She then found aerial dance at the turn of the century thanks to Pendulum Aerial Arts and later co-founded A-WOL Dance Collective and continued to play a role as Co-Artistic Director from 2003- 2021. Recently, Brandy has stepped back from performing to focus on directing and choreography, setting full length productions for A-WOL Dance Collective, Fertile Ground Festival and Junction. Brandy has been the coach and choreographer for the Clackamas Cavalettes Varsity dance team for the past eighteen years, winning four championship titles. Brandy has a refreshing take on movement, combining unusual ways to withdraw from the ground and work with supported manipulation of the body.
